Chandigarh MC elections: In final lap, biggies do heavy lifting

CHANDIGARH: From Kanhaiya Kumar to Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal and Himachal Pradesh party president Kuldeep Rathore to former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Congress unleashed its star power on the penultimate day of campaigning for the MC elections on Monday.

Former union minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, Congress in-charge for Punjab and Chandigarh Harish Chaudhary, Manpreet and Punjab MLA Fateh Jung Bajwa campaigned for candidate Rana Balwinder Kaur in ward number 32. Kanhaiya Kumar, Punjab MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu and Bansal’s son Manish Bansal held rallies for candidates Basant Chaudhary and Ravi Thakur. Hooda campaigned for A S Robby, party candidate from ward number 30.
