Chandigarh: Man duped of Rs 75,000 on Canada PR lure

CHANDIGARH: UT police registered a cheating case against the employee of an immigration firm for allegedly duping a Kapurthala resident of Rs 75,000 on the pretext of providing a visa.

In his police complaint, Babu Singh, a resident of Kapurthala, Punjab accused Bappdatiay Mandal and proprietor a firm in Sector 17 pf duping him on the pretext of providing a Canadian PR visa in 2018.

The complainant said he allegedly entered into an agreement with the accused for visa process of Canada for his daughter and paid Rs 75,000 through cheque on August 22, 2018.

However, the complainant neither provided a visa nor returned money. The victim said he filed a complaint at the SSP UT public window. The SSP marked the complaint to Sector 17 police station for further investigation. Police registered a case and started a probe.
