CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has formed a committee to regularise building violations in CHB dwelling units on Delhi pattern for onetime settlement. The decision was taken in the board of directors meeting of CHB under the chairmanship of UT adviser Dharam Pal, who is also chairman of CHB. However, there is no immediate relief for allottees.
As per the decision, the committee was formed under the chairmanship of CHB secretary Rakesh Popli, which will have members of departments of the UT administration. During the process, the committee may consult the nominated members of the board, RWAs and other stakeholders for some innovative solutions. The report of the committee to be placed before the board for consideration and appropriate decision.
On January 29, former UT administrator VP Singh Badnore had directed CHB to examine the demand of residents for one-time regularisation of additional construction on Delhi pattern. CHB allottees claim that relaxation based on the Delhi pattern is a complete solution to the complicated need-based changes done by them and it was implemented in 1999 in Delhi.
Recently, the CHB had also extended deadline for regularisation of needbased changes till December 31. No changes were made in the penal charges.
As per the order, the CHB has kept penal charges at Rs 50 per square ft per annum for EWS category of flats. Similarly, for LIG category flats, charges were kept as Rs 60 per square ft per annum. Likewise, for MIG category flats, charges were kept at Rs 80 per square ft per annum. The penal charges for HIG category flats were kept at Rs 90 per square ft per annum.
