Chandigarh adviser seeks report on private hospital oxygen plants

CHANDIGARH: UT adviser Dharam Pal has sought a progress report on health department’s plan for setting up oxygen generation plants at private hospitals.

To deal with a possible third wave of Covid-19, health secretary Yashpal Garg had last month held a meeting with private hospitals for setting up oxygen generation plants in their hospitals. The meeting was attended by DHS, medical superintendent, Government Multi-specialty Hospital, Sector 16, and representatives of 13 private hospitals. An official said Pal and Garg putting efforts to convince private hospitals was a part of this exercise. The UT had given a presentation about the PSA oxygen technology by Dr Manjit Singh, medical officer, GMSH. , about working of oxygen plants.

PM to virtually open GMSH O 2 plant today

PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate an oxygen plant at Government Multi-speciality Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, online from Rishikesh AIIMS along with over 160 oxygen plants across the country on Thursday. Punjab governor-cum-UT administrator Banwari Lal Purohit, MP Kirron Kher and others will inaugurate oxygen plants at PGI, GMCH, and Sector 48 hospital online.
