CHANDIGARH: The enforcement wing of the municipal corporation (MC) has removed 40 unauthorised hoardings and served notices of Rs 1.8 crore to five violators in sectors 22, 27 and 34. Anindita Mitra, commissioner, MC, has ordered officers to crack down on people putting up illegal hoardings violating advertisement control order, 1954.
Mitra said awareness meetings were organised with all stakeholders in April on implementation of the order, provisions. According to the order, permission of the MC is required to display an advertisement to public view in any manner.
