Chancer who ignored court orders told to "expect prison sentence" after bail

A man has been told to prepare for jail after being bailed for reports to be completed.

Paul McKenzie, 42, appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court earlier this month after admitting breaching his community payback order.

McKenzie, of Cara Place, was initially given a community payback order for behaving threateningly towards his partner.

He also drove without a licence or insurance and took a car without the consent of the owner.

His order was reimposed in January because of his negligent attitude towards it.

And Sheriff Frank Pieri warned McKenzie he has very possibly reached the end of the road after failing to change his ways.

The sheriff told him: “I reimposed your order in January, yet here we are again.

“Don’t you remember what I said to you on the last occasion?

“You’re lucky I can’t deal with you today as I need a fresh report because you’ve never had a custodial sentence before.

“You’ll be bailed in the meantime, but make no mistake, come back here on the next occasion expecting a custodial sentence.”

McKenzie will return to court on August 28.
