Leeds' exciting new city centre neighbourhood is to host an amazing installation for this year's Light Night celebrations.
Aire Bank is a huge new development that will massively increase the size of Leeds city centre.
Based near the Tetley, the surrounding area will be totally transformed in the coming years, with exciting plans in place including a hotel, shops, offices and around 850 residential properties given outline planning permission in December.
Hosted by Vistant UK this Light Night, ‘Pleasance’ by Novak is a 35-metre long street projection, which will be displayed on the street in front of the famous Tetley building.
Andrew Cobden, Managing Director of Vastint UK, said: "After considerable, thoughtful planning, we’re excited to finally offer the people of Leeds the opportunity to quite literally step into the Aire Park experience at Light Night Leeds.
"Pleasance will pay homage to South Bank’s tailoring and industrial heritage, the significance of River Aire, and celebrate the bustling district that Aire Park will bring to the centre of Leeds. "
The centerpiece of the upcoming Aire Bank development will be an enormous green space, which will be split into five separate sections across two hectares - and will include an outdoor theatre space.
The South Bank regeneration project has been billed as the largest scheme of its kind in Europe and will eventually see around 8,000 homes built on an area of land the size of 350 football pitches. A vast number of shops, offices, restaurants and cafés are also in the pipeline.
