Chance to make real change with these charity jobs paying up to £27,000

The Liverpool City Region's leading homeless and housing charity has opened applications for multiple vacancies ranging from admin to outreach.

The Whitechapel Centre, on Langdale Street, who were awarded Liverpool's highest honour in 2016, is looking to hire five new permanent employees throughout its organisation which works with rough sleepers, and those living in hostels or struggling to manage their accommodation. They have also opened applications for what they call 'bank workers' who can support the charity's overnight operations.

The successful applicants will become part of a team that helped prevent over 1,000 people from becoming homeless and also managed to find accommodation for almost 2,500 rough sleepers last year. Last year in total the charity worked to help nearly 4,000 people who were all struggling to find and keep a home.

There is a range of experience required for the jobs on offer. One, a donations administrator that pays over £20,000 per year, requires only organizational and IT skills and some previous work in a charitable setting, including in charity shops.

Whereas others, like one Multilingual supported accommodation project worker job, paying nearly £30,000 per year, require not just a 'can do' attitude, but working knowledge of Eastern European languages also, as well as a background in homeless charitable work. Yet, most do not ask for applicants to be so qualified, but merely ask for experience in working with vulnerable people.

The charity is also seeking to add to its bank of available workers who can help support residents and retain a healthy and safe environment at the various accommodation based services ran by Whitechapel throughout the city. There is currently no information available on the salary of these workers as of yet.
