Chance the Rapper announced on Instagram Sunday that he’s canceling his upcoming 2020 tour, which he previously postponed earlier this year after his second daughter’s birth.
“I know it sucks and it’s been a lot of back and forth with reschedules and rerouting, but it’s for the best,” he said. “I’m gonna take this time to be with family, make some new music and develop my best show to date.”
Chance postponed “The Big Tour” in September after the birth of his second daughter, Marli. He said at the time he wanted to be “as helpful and available as possible” to his wife in raising Marli and her 4-year-old sister, Kensli.
The rapper still performed the tour’s Sept. 28 show in Chicago. The rest of tour had been scheduled to kick off Jan. 15, 2020.
“Thank you all for an amazing year, and a huge thanks to my team and family for being so strong through this whole year,” Chance said Sunday. “I promise to come back much stronger and better in 2020 and hope to see some of you guys there.”
