Blantyre Victoria are in talks with the West Region SJFA after the West of Scotland League proposal was KO'd by the SFA.
A whistleblower revealed to Lanarkshire Live Sport today that an email was sent by WoSL chiefs notifying the outgoing junior clubs that the proposed conference system would not be allowed by the governing body.
The organisers of the new set-up have now returned with a proposal that will see the current West Region Premiership and Bonnyton Thistle form tier six, with conferences below creating tier seven.
It is understood the SFA do not believe it would be possible to add all of the teams to their Judicial Protocol.
The Vics were declared co-champions of the Championship with Darvel but are set to miss out on their shot at tier six, just below the Lowland League, as titles were handed out by the West Region without promotion or relegation.
Key talks over the future of the WoSL are set to take place over conference call tonight.
A statement from the committee at Castle Park read: “The club have acknowledged this mornings correspondence from the WoSFL and we are currently in contact with the West Region SJFA regarding the matter.
"We also should add the club secretary will be taking part in a conference call with the WoSFL this evening."
