Championship transfer rumours: Wolves to bid for Leeds midfielder, Jack Butland can go for £32m

Wolves are reportedly ready to bid for Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips in January, but they will not pay the £30m asking price.

The Sun say Wolves are keen on Phillips, who will have 18 months left on his contract at Elland Road when the transfer window opens next.

Stoke City are reportedly willing to sell England goalkeeper Jack Butland to a European club, so long as they will pay £32m.

Bournemouth and Aston Villa refused to meet the asking price this summer, but European clubs have until September 2 to seal deals.

Bristol City striker Matty Taylor looks set to be closing in on a move to League One side Oxford United, report Bristol Live.

Taylor, 29, was strongly linked with a deadline day move to Championship newboys Charlton Athletic but it never materalised.

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer has revealed they tried to sign Sheffield United forward Mark Duffy this summer. Duffy instead joined Stoke on a season-long loan.

“They’ve got some good individuals. Obviously [Mark] Duffy’s just gone there from Sheffield United. A very good player, he’s someone that we were looking at.”
