Championship transfer rumours: Premier League trio track Wing, Wigan's Robinson wanted

It may feel as though the summer transfer window is quite a long way off at the moment but it will soon be creeping upon us before you know it.

And already the rumour mill concerning Championship clubs and their players is already in full swing, with clubs already, no doubt, having plans in place for the summer.

With that in mind, here is the very latest transfer news from right around the Championship.

Premier League trio eye Wing

Premier League clubs AFC Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton are all showing an interest in signing Middlesbrough midfielder Lewis Wing, report TEAMtalk.

In what has proven to be a difficult season for Boro, the 24-year-old midfield man has excelled, netting six goals this term.

And in recent weeks, the former Shildon AFC man has proven that he can deliver the goods on a consistent basis, too, scoring three goals in his last three matches.

The Riverside club are not keen on losing Wing this summer but could be tempted to let him go if a sizeable bid came their way.

Wigan’s Robinson wanted

Wigan Athletic defender Antonee Robinson looked poised to seal a sensational January transfer deadline day switch to AC Milan last month, only for it to collapse at the final hurdle.

But following his failed switch to the Italian giants, Premier League trio Aston Villa, Chelsea and Newcastle United are now taking an interest in landing the left-back, according to the Mail.

Robinson has been a shining light in a disappointing season for the Latics so far this term, racking up 30 appearances, scoring one goal.

With his intended move to Milan having been poised to cost the Serie A club £10m, it is safe to say that Villa, Chelsea and Newcastle will stand little chance of landing the left-back cheaply.

Scouts watch Blackburn Rovers star

Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong has been recently watched by scouts from a ‘clutch’ of Premier League clubs, report the Newcastle Chronicle.

Armstrong has been in outstanding form of late for Tony Mowbray’s side, scoring four times in his last eight games.

And that has led to Premier League clubs keeping tabs on the former Newcastle man.

In 151 senior career appearances, Armstrong, who has scored 10 goals this season, has 50 career goals to his name.
