Championship transfer rumours: Manchester United eye Stoke ace, Blackburn boss outlines plans

Manchester United eye Stoke ace

Manchester United have scouts keeping tabs on Stoke City defender Nathan Collins ahead of a potential move at the end of the season, Sky Sports reports.

The 18-year-old has featured 12 times for the first-team this season as well as a number of appearances for the club's reserve side in an impressive breakthrough campaign.

His performances have seemingly not gone unnoticed though, with the reports suggesting United have a top scout keeping tabs on his development.

Blackburn boss outlines transfer plans

Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has identified where the club are keen on strengthening at the end of the season in the summer transfer window, speaking to Lancs Live.

A strong defensive performance throughout the season has been a standout feature of the club's campaign but two members of the back five, Christian Walton and Tosin Adarabioyo, will return to their parent clubs this summer.

As such, Mowbray has confirmed that defence will be a priority: "We've looked at our squad and ultimately you can see what we need to do.

"Whatever division we're in, wherever this season takes us we need to know what our back four is going to be next year and know what our goalkeeper is going to be next year."

Woodman comments on Swansea future

Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has commented on his future, as he approaches the end of his loan spell in the Championship with Swansea City.

The 22-year-old is contracted at the club until 2021 and will return to St. James' Park this summer, although first-team football may be difficult to competition with Martin Dubravka.

Swansea are keen on a permanent deal for the stopper and he told BBC Sport he isn't looking too far ahead: "I have got 10 games left here at Swansea and I am going to enjoy every minute of it.

"I have done that for the last 36 games. I have enjoyed playing for this team and this club so I don't look any further ahead."

Birmingham take Mulumbu on trial

Birmingham City have taken former West Brom and Celtic midfielder Yussuf Mulumbu on trial, Birmingham Live reports.

The 33-year-old has been brought on as a potential short-term solution to the club's lack of options in central midfield, following a long-term injury to Josh McEachran and David Davis’ departure on loan.

Having been released by Celtic in the summer, Mulumbu is a free agent and featured for Birmingham's U23 side against Crewe on Monday afternoon.

He had been linked with a return to Kilmarnock, which never materialised, and is mostly known for his spell with West Brom, where he made over 200 appearances.
