Championship transfer rumours: Leeds United submit Hugill offer, Huddersfield win defender race

Despite the 2019/20 season still officially needing to be finished, clubs from around England are seemingly wasting no time looking to add to their squad.

Here is a selection of the best transfer rumours from the Championship.

Terriers win race for Nigerian full-back

Huddersfield Town have won the race to sign Nigerian full-back Charles Ondoh, according to allnigeriasoccer.com.

Ondoh, who plays as a left-back, has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with the Terriers that will come into effect on July 1.

Huddersfield were facing competition for the Nigerian from Norwich City and Stoke City, but it appears the Yorkshire-based club have won the race for his signature.

Harry Toffolo and Jaden Brown are currently the left-back options in Danny Cowley’s first-team squad.

Young duo sign new deals at Birmingham

Birmingham City have secured the future of two of their most exciting young prospects, Ryan Stirk and Jayden Reid, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The Blues duo will now be at St Andrew’s until at least the summer of 2021 after the club triggered an option in their contract to keep them in the Midlands.

Stirk was part of the Wast Hills academy in Birmingham and signed his first professional deal with the club in November 2017.

Reid has only been with the Blues for a year after beginning his career as a trainee at Premier League giants Manchester United.

Leeds submit offer for Sunderland youngster

Leeds United have sent an offer for Sunderland youngster Joe Hugill, according to Football Insider.

However, the Whites are likely to miss out on the 16-year-old striker, with Manchester United keen on taking Hugill from the Stadium of Light.

Leeds have made a move for Hugill and offered him a first professional contract ahead of his 17th birthday.

Football Insider states that Hugill has his heart set on a move to United, though and has agreed an initial scholarship deal with the Premier League giants.

QPR in talks over training ground

Queens Park Rangers have scrapped their initial plans to build a brand-new training ground on the Warren Farm site.

The plan was first identified way back in 2012, but the club and Ealing Council have now confirmed the negotiations have now stopped.

However, the west London side are in “advanced discussions” over building a new training facility on a new site, according to the Evening Standard.

QPR are currently sharing their training facilities with Imperial College in Harlington.
