Championship transfer rumours and gossip from around the second tier ahead of the summer transfer window.

Leeds want midfielder

Leeds United will attempt to sign Reading midfielder Jonathan Swift this summer after tracking his progress this season.

The promotion hopefuls are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of a potential return to the Premier League for the first time in 15 years and Football Insider report that they are interested in Swift.

The report claims that Leeds will launch a £7m bid to land Swift regardless of whether or not they are promoted with Marcelo Bielsa identifying the England U21 international as someone who could play in either the Championship or the Premier League.

But the Yorkshire club have been dealt a blow in their reported pursuit of Yannick Bolasie with the Everton man playing down rumours of a move to Elland Road.

Speaking to Belgian publication Walfoot, the 29-year-old said: “Have I spoken to Bielsa? I have never heard about that, frankly.

“I’m happy to be here and that’s what counts. Will I stay? You never know.”
