Championship rumours: Liverpool and Real Madrid battle for teen talent, Egypt international heading home

The Championship transfer rumour mill continues to turn as clubs gear up for another second tier season.

Sides up and down the League will be plotting for another gruelling campaign, with very different objectives.

Relegated trio Huddersfield Town, Fulham and Cardiff City will be gunning for promotion once again, while Barnsley, Luton Town and Charlton Athletic will be doing their best to prepare against an immediate relegation back to League One.

Liverpool linked with Fulham starlet

Harvey Elliott is set to depart recently-relegated Fulham this summer.

According to the London Evening Standard , he has rejected the offer of a new contract.

Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and RB Leipzig are among the clubs interested in Elliott, who is Fulham's youngest Premier League player.

They will be entitled to compensation if the 16-year-old moves to another English club, but that figure will drop dramatically if he goes abroad.

Birmingham linked with Stoke bad boy

Saido Berahino could be offered a way back into football with Birmingham City.

He is set to be offered a trial by Birmingham following a dismal spell with Stoke, where he is expected to depart this summer.

Berahino, who moved from West Brom to the Potteries in 2017 was found guilty of drink driving in May.

But Blues reckon they can resurrect his career at St Andrew's, according to The Sun .

Huddersfield wing man set for loan departure

Huddersfield Town are set to loan out Egyptian international winger Ramadan Sobhi.

According to the Examiner , the £5 million signing is set to re-join Al Ahly, who he signed for in January.

Sobhi joined the Terriers from Stoke last summer but made just four Premier League appearances.

Reading close in on target

Reading are closing in on Everton youngster Joao Virginia.

According to GetReading , the 19-year-old is set to become Jose Gomes' first signing of the summer.

Turkish side set to bid for West Brom man

Matt Phillips is set to be the subject of a €2.5 million bid from Turkish giants Besiktas.

Fanatik report Phillips is on Besiktas' 'agenda' and that they will offer him a one-year-deal.

Phillips has been with West Brom since 2016 and was a key player during the 2018/19 campaign.
