Championship rumours: Leeds United eye Blackburn starlet, Derby rule out Ibe move

Leeds United are closing in on Blackburn Rovers starlet Luke Brennan after completing a deal for Charlie Allen, according to Football Insider.

Brennan, 18, has enjoyed a breakout season in Rovers academy and helped the club reach the FA Youth Cup semi-final. Part of that run entailed a 4-1 victory against Arsenal, during which Brennan scored.

Those performances have caught the eye of Leeds, and the club are now attempting to secure the pacey winger’s services. A part of Blackburn’s U23s, Brennan has made seven appearances in the Premier League 2 this season.

This comes after the club completed a deal for Northern Irish starlet Charlie Allen. A forward who can also play in midfield, Allen is viewed by many as one of Northern Ireland’s brightest prospects, and the Linfield youngster agreed a move to Elland Road earlier this month.

Scottish giants targeting Baggies youngster

Rangers are looking to bring Rayhaan Tulloch north of the border this summer, according to the Scottish Sun.

Tulloch, 19, has drawn interest from several English sides and Rangers as his future at West Brom hangs in the balance. The youngster is out of contract in June, and that has alerted Brighton and West Ham to his availability.

Tulloch enjoyed a good season in the Premier League 2 prior to coronavirus ending the campaign and registered nine goals and four assists in 14 games. That form earned him a trio of appearances in the FA Cup under Slaven Bilic, and the club remains optimistic that assurances of more first-team football will persuade him to commit to the club.

The Baggies will now have to fend off interest from Steven Gerrard as he attempts to boost his attacking options. The report claims that Rangers have been encouraged by the fact Tulloch is yet to agree an extension at Hawthorns.

Derby won’t go back in for former loanee

Despite being a loan target for Derby County last summer, Jordon Ibe, will not be on the club’s radar this summer, according to DerbyshireLive.

Ibe, 24, joined Bournemouth from Liverpool for a then club-record fee of £15million in 2016 but has struggled to build on the promise he showed at Anfield. According to Sky Sports, the winger will be released by the Cherries when his contract expires next month, but a return to Derby is highly unlikely.

The Rams asked about Ibe’s availability last summer as they continued their search for a wide-attacker, but Bournemouth rejected their advances as they were unwilling to loan out Ibe at the time.

Ibe had previously impressed while on loan at Pride Park in 2014/2015, but the club do not see a deal as a viable option, with Ibe likely to have numerous suitors in the Championship.

Forest one of three clubs attempting bargain deal

Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Reading are all considering a move for Sporting midfielder Bruno Paz.

Paz, 22, is currently on the books of Sporting, and according to Portuguese outlet Record, Sporting are ready to sanction a deal for Paz. It is believed the club will ask for a fee in the region of €3 million and would demand a 30% sell-on clause.

The same report claims Forest are one of three English clubs, alongside Brentford and Reading, chasing the midfielder.
