Championship rumours: Bielsa makes demands for Leeds United stay, Newcastle United rivalled for West Brom striker

With two more sides confirmed for the Championship next season after play-off heartbreak for Leeds United and West Brom, the interest in the transfer window is rising.

It looks set to be a busy summer as clubs look to bolster their ranks ahead of next term and there is already plenty of news circulating.

Here’s the latest rumours and gossip from the Sky Bet Championship.

The brilliant, the good and the not-so-good - how Nottingham Forest players rated this season

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa is ready to stay at Elland Road as long as he is not instructed to cut costs ahead of next season, according to a report from the Telegraph.

Questions have been asked about what is next for the Argentine boss after defeat to Derby County in the play-offs ended the charge for a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Leeds are also looking to get a deal over the line as Football Insider states they have opened talks with Forest Green Rovers regarding a deal for winger Reece Brown.

Brown is out of contract with the League Two side this summer and is widely regarded to be one of the best free agents available in the Football League, with a host of clubs attributed with an interest in his services.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United’s quest to sign Salomon Rondon from West Brom on a permanent basis has been made even more difficult as the Daily Mail states Wolves have entered the running for his services.

Rondon has impressed on loan with the Magpies this season, scoring 11 goals and contributing a further seven assists to help Rafael Benitez’s side secure top-flight safety.

Wolves have also expressed an interest in landing Reading ace Danny Loader this summer, Football Insider reports, after the 18-year-old’s stock continued to rise over the course of the past 12 months.

Throughout years of chop and change at Nottingham Forest, Arvin Appiah is fresh proof of one constant

After making his debut at the age of 16, Loader has impressed this term after making a total of 22 appearances for the Royals.

Elsewhere, Millwall striker Lee Gregory has snubbed interest from newly-promoted Sheffield United and play-off finalists Derby County to agree to join Stoke City this summer, according to the Mail.

The 30-year-old will bring an end to a five-year stint at the Den this summer when his contract expires but a move to Stoke will see him remain in the Championship, rather than trying his luck in the Premier League.

Hull City are keen to sign Liverpool talent Herbie Kane on loan next season as they seek to build upon what has been an impressive campaign this term, Hull Live reports.

20-year-old Kane has shone with Doncaster Rovers in League One this season and could be handed the opportunity to play at a higher level in the Championship next term, with a breakthrough into Jurgen Klopp’s side unlikely for now.

New QPR boss Mark Warburton admits he's battle-hardened after Nottingham Forest spell

Finally, Teesside Live reports Middlesbrough may face difficulties offloading Martin Braithwaite to Leganes this summer as they are eyeing a fee of €8m for his services - a price that is too steep for the LaLiga side.

The Danish striker has now intention of returning to the Riverside this summer and Leganes are keen on a permanent deal after he netted four goals and contributed five assists as the club secure top-flight safety in Spain.
