Championship rival offers Nottingham Forest verdict - and it involves Leeds United

Nottingham Forest are one of the best teams in the Championship when on the ball, according to Danny Cowley.

The Huddersfield Town boss is preparing his side to take on the Reds in Saturday’s league fixture at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Forest started the season strongly under Sabri Lamouchi and looked genuine promotion contenders, but have slipped off the pace in the last few weeks.

Lamouchi’s men are winless in four games, have one win in six, and dropped out of the play-off positions following Saturday’s 4-0 hammering at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

But Forest are dangerous on the road – as their recent 4-0 win at Queens Park Rangers showed.

Huddersfield have won one of their last five at home, and their last outing at the John Smith’s Stadium saw them beaten 2-0 by Leeds United.

“Certainly with the ball they are one of the best teams in the division,” Cowley said of Nottingham Forest in his pre-match press conference.

“Our challenge is to find some weaknesses is their structure so we can hurt them come Saturday.”

Cowley was then asked if they can learn from the Leeds game when Forest visit.

“You learn from every game we play,” he said. “Forest and Leeds are different teams. Both top end of the division.

“Without the ball Nottingham Forest are different to Leeds.”

Huddersfield had an initial boost when the Cowley brothers arrived but have dipped of late and slipped to four points above the relegation zone.

Forest will be looking to take advantage of that.

“Forest are very calm and controlled; they can create a real rhythm,” said Cowley. “We have to look at us and put a lot of focus into us.

“We have to put a lot of time into ourselves that produces a game plan that works for us.”
