The English Football League (EFL) has confirmed that the latest round of coronavirus testing returned zero positive results.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the EFL said that 542 players and staff from the four clubs involved in the Championship play-off semi-finals were tested over the course of the last week.

None of the players or staff tested positive for Covid-19.

In the first Championship play-off semi-final, on Sunday, Swansea defeated 10-man Brentford 1-0 in Wales as Andre Ayew struck late on after Rico Hendry’s red card.

The two teams meet again this evening for a place in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium on 4 August.

In the second Championship play-off semi-final, which took place on Monday, visitors Fulham defeated Cardiff 2-0 thanks to second-half goals from Josh Onomah and Neeskens Kebano.

The second leg of that tie will be held on Thursday night.
