Championship morning headlines: Nottingham Forest and Bristol City in transfer battle as Leeds United give update

Trio battle for Vydra

Bristol City are one of three Championship clubs eyeing up a move for Matej Vydra.

The Burnley striker wants to leave Turf Moor this month over a lack of game time, and has emerged as an alternative prospect to Clarets teammate Nahki Wells.

It seems unlikely that both Wells and Vydra will depart Burnley this month, meaning it could be a case of one or the other.

Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion are the other two clubs keen on Vydra.

Cardiff City keeper leaves

Cardiff City keeper Joe Day has joined AFC Wimbledon on loan.

Day only moved to the Bluebirds from Newport County in the summer but has now dropped down to League One.

The 29-year-old has mainly been third-choice at Cardiff, having been brought in to fill the void should Neil Etheridge or Alex Smithies depart.

Yet both players stayed at Cardiff, leaving Day consigned to the under-23s.

Leeds update

Marcelo Bielsa has ruled out adding another player to Leeds United this month.

The Whites pulled off the eye-catching signing of Jean-Kevin Augustin this week and Leeds Live asked Bielsa if any more are to come.

He said: "No, we are not going to add another player, so no."
