Championship morning headlines: Bristol City reveal frustration as Leeds United sent message over striker

Kalas frustration

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson has confirmed record signing Tomas Kalas will miss Blackburn Rovers through tendinitis.

"I don't think he'll be fit to be honest, which is frustrating," Johnson said.

"Probably five, six days ago I thought I'd be able to start Kalas in that one (against Millwall) knowing we'd need him in key areas: energy, organisation and a bit of quality. He's our record signing for a reason.

"I'm looking forward to getting him back and that's part of the reason I get frustrated because I know he'd have made a difference.

"He's a warrior, he wants to be out there but the medical team are saying it's too dangerous to play him."

Leeds sent message

Paul Robinson has warned Leeds United that Eddie Nketiah will likely return to Arsenal in January.

"I think this is harsh to say but Eddie Nketiah, since he’s come in, has been disappointing," he said to MOT Leeds.

"He’s not been given much of a chance, to be fair to him, which is probably the most disappointing thing.

"When Patrick Bamford wasn’t scoring the manager never looked like he was going to change it or put Nketiah into the team.

"He got his injury, he’s been out for a while and is back in now so it’ll be interesting to see how and if he’s used between now and January because I suspect that Arsenal will want him back.

"If he’s got other options, if there’s an option to go back to Arsenal and go out on loan again in January and play every week, as a player that’s something that you’d want, and I believe Nketiah would probably look at that if he’s not getting his chance."
