Championship morning headlines: Bristol City await Arsenal decision as Nottingham Forest and Leeds United battle

Nketiah wait goes on

The wait to find out where Eddie Nketiah will go out on loan continues.

Bristol City are one of the front runners for the Arsenal striker and have seen other targets go elsewhere as they wait for a decision over where Nketiah will end up.

Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday are also interested in the England under-21 international, who was expected to reach a decision over his future last week.

Yet the delay has now been explained, with new Gunners boss Mikel Arteta keen to see Nketiah in action before deciding whether to keep him at the Emirates or not.

A decision has now been reached - all that remains to be seen is where exactly Nketiah ends up, and news on that is expected soon.

In former Bristol City player news, both Nottingham Forest and Leeds United are keen on Luke Freeman.

The attacker made the step up to the Premier League in the summer when he moved from QPR to Sheffield United, but he has found game time limited.

That has alerted long-time admirers Leeds, along with Forest, to the fact he may be available in January.

Unless the Blades sign a replacement, however, they do not seem willing to let their £5m summer signing go that easily.

Latest on Brownhill

For at least six months there has been consistent Premier League interest in Bristol City star Josh Brownhill.

That has continued in this window, with Burnley heavily linked with the player, whose contract runs until 2021.

However, Bristol Live understands that talks are taking place with interested clubs, with one source even suggesting that a verbal offer of £6m has been mooted.

We understand however, that despite talks taking place, as it stands no transfer is close to happening . City would like to keep Brownhill until the summer if they can, with wide acceptance that one way or another he will be playing in the Premier League next season.

Read everything we know about the latest on Brownhill's future.
