Championship: Leeds fall to ten-man Wigan as Bolton's relegation is confirmed with defeat to Aston Villa

Leeds suffered an almighty blow in their bid for automatic promotion after being defeated 2-1 by 10-man Wigan at Elland Road.

Bolton's dismal season, on and off the pitch, was finally condemned to relegation with defeat against Aston Villa, while Rotherham's survival hopes took another dent with a dramatic 4-3 loss to Swansea.

Sheffield United ensured Norwich cannot secure promotion to the Premier League this evening with a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, there were wins for West Brom and Blackburn, while the shares were spoiled elsewhere on a free-scoring day in the Championship.

Relive all the action below.

Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of Good Friday's Championship fixtures as Norwich attempt to secure promotion to the Premier League. Here's today's fixtures in full:

Birmingham City vs Derby County (3pm)

Bolton Wanderers vs Aston Villa

Today's 12pm kick-off is about to get underway at Ashton Gate as Bristol City take on Reading.

Here are the line-ups:
It's Bristol who have started brightly and Liam Moore makes a frantic block to close down the danger in the box.
6 min: Liam Moore meets the corner at the other end but can't keep his header down.
11 min: Kalas storms in to make the last-gasp slide tackle on Ejaria, before O'Leary is forced into action to scramble away Meite's curling shot. Promising signs for Reading.
16 min: Diedhiou meets Dasilva's fizzed cross, but the goalbound header is well blocked by Miazga.
22 min: It's been an open start to the game with chances at either end, but neither side can find the decisive blow thus far.
24 min: Deidhiou darts into the area, cuts inside, but Miazga is on hand again to make a crucial block.
Sheffield United vs Nottingham Forest is underway!
28 min: Bristol are forced into a change, with Smith coming off injured after a collision with Ejaria. Liam Walsh replaces him.
37 min: Bristol are throwing their weight forward in the hunt for a first goal now. Walsh forces Arsenal loannee Martinez into a reflex save before Brownhill is denied by a goal-line clearance and Hunt's follow-up somehow careers into the side-netting.
9 min: A dominant start at Bramall lane for Sheffield but no clear glimpses at goal just yet.
16 min: Colback is booked for diving on the corner of the box, after the midfielder deliberately hooked his foot on the defender's leg and tumbled acrobatically.
HT: That's the end of the first half at Ashton Gate, and despite a number of promising chances, the deadlock is yet to be broken.
30 min: So close for Sheffield as McGoldrick's header travels across the face of goal and Madine is just inches away from toe-poking home.
We're back underway at Ashton Gate. It's still 0-0 between Bristol City and Reading.
