Brentford score another peach! This time it’s Jota!

Wycombe have given themselves a lifeline against Oxford, Aaron Holloway making it 3-2.

GOAL! Fulham 1-3 Brentford (Judge, 90 min)

Brentford are only doing special goals today. A free-kick from Alan Judge has surely secured the three points for Mark Warburton’s side.

Who’s got Plymouth’s equaliser against Burton Albion? Carl McHugh, that’s who.

Exeter were 2-0 down. Not any more. Jordan Moore-Taylor scores and it’s Luton 2-2 Exeter.

GOAL! Millwall 1-1 Charlton (Gueye, 79 min)

Relief for Millwall, Magaye Gueye sparing their blushes against 10 men.

Updated

Charlie Lee equalises for Stevenage against Tranmere. It’s 2-2 there. And it’s Port Vale 0-2 Colchester thanks to a goal from Jacob Murphy.

Dave Winfield makes it York 1-0 Cheltenham and Theo Robinson makes it Scunthorpe 2-0 Peterborough.

Bristol City weren’t ahead for long. Carl Winchester equalises for Oldham and it’s 1-1.

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 0-2 Wolves (Sako pen, 72 min)

A ludicrous challenge in the area from Henri Lansbury and Bakary Sako, the man who was fouled, punishes him by doubling Wolves’s lead from the spot!

A flick from Alou Diarra puts the 10 men of Charlton ahead at the Den!

Matt Smith almost equalises for Fulham (whose penalty was very dodgy) and it’s AFC Wimbledon 2-1 Northampton, James Gray pulling one back for the visitors.

GOAL! Fulham 1-2 Brentford (McCormack pen, 67 min)

Is it going to be a nervy finish for Brentford?

Chesterfield are level! They were 2-0 down at Yeovil a few minutes ago, but Jay O’Shea has made it 2-2.

GOAL! Brighton 0-1 Norwich (Johnson, 62 min)

Tom Soares - remember him? - makes it Cambridge 0-2 Bury. I can hear boos.

“I’m reading on the train, but I’m not enjoying it at the moment, though that’s not really down to you,” says Tom Connor. “I’m currently supporting Brighton, Fulham, Forest, and Wigan, but they’re all letting me down. Hoping for a 0-0 at 19:45 with plenty of sendings off and non-painful but weeks-long injuries. Can you tell where I’m going on the train?”

Could it be Portman Road?

Oh, Hartlepool. They were 2-0 up at Newport, but it’s 2-2 now, Aaron O’Connor with the equaliser.

Wycombe score! Paul Hayes makes it Wycombe 1-2 Oxford. It’s on!

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 0-1 Wolves (Afobe, 46 min)

What a start to the second half for Wolves! Afobe saunters through the middle brilliantly, twisting and turning and tormenting the Forest defenders, and then threads a low shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards. That took 20 seconds.

Are you ready for the second half?

I’m not sure who I’m speaking to.

You can find out all the half-time scores here. See you in 15 minutes.

BUT MILLWALL DON'T LEAD!

Lee Gregory’s penalty is awful, delivered at around 2mph, and Stephen Henderson saves easily! Charlton are down to 10 men, but it’s still goalless.

Millwall have a penalty...

And Chris Solly has been sent off for Charlton, handling Martyn Woolford’s shot.

GOAL! Middlesbrough 1-0 Wigan (Bamford, 20 min)

At the bottom of League One, James Hayter makes it Yeovil 1-0 Chesterfield.

Would you like to know what’s happening between Newport and Hartlepool in League Two? Of course. Hartlepool lead thanks to a Lee Minshull own goal and suddenly they’re dreaming of an improbable escape act. Meanwhile Connor Goldson makes it Shrewsbury 1-0 Dagenham & Redbridge and it’s Gillingham 0-1 Fleetwood thanks to a Gareth Evans goal.

Kemar Roofe, er, raises Oxford’s spirits, giving them the lead in the famous M40 derby against promotion-chasing Wycombe Wanderers.

Wes Hoolahan shoots, David Stockdale saves. Norwich haven’t made the breakthrough against Brighton yet.

It has just been suggested that Chris Hughton, now at Brighton, was wronged by Norwich when they sacked him. No.

Poor old Portsmouth. Haven’t they suffered enough?

Stevenage lead against Tranmere, Bira Dembele with the goal, and Kyle Dempsey has put Carlisle ahead against Portsmouth.

Kacaniklic has gone close for Fulham, hammering a drive goalwards and forcing Brentford’s Button into a fine save.

There have been no goals yet. They told me the Championship’s exciting. But what do they know?

Peep! We have football.

Teams are in tunnels up and down the country. Soon there will be football.

And what’s happening at the New Den, where seemingly doomed Millwall host Charlton?

It’s a west London derby at Craven Cottage, where Fulham are without Private Scott E. Parker because of illness.

All aboard.

Here’s the news from St Andrew’s.

At the Amex Stadium, the teamsheets have been handed in.

Here’s the news from the City Ground.

And here’s the riposte from Aitor Karanka! Phwoar!

Loveable rogue Malky Mackay has named his Wigan team for today’s daunting trip against Middlesbrough.

But here’s what Watford manager Slavisa Jokanovic had to say about the Championship yesterday.

It might end on May 2 – or not. It is very long. You have to be ready for whatever is thrown in front of you. There are a lot of games – two in three days or three in five. It is the same for everyone. The Championship is very famous. I have spent all of my life in football. I am not surprised by it. I knew what I would find in the competition, more or less. It is a new experience to feel what it is but I am prepared and I believe in my team. I arrive from outside England and for you it’s probably like no one is interested in the second division of English football outside England. It’s not England. My friends in Serbia watch Championship games on television. It has many followers around the world. It is not my first experience. Last year I watched Millwall against Bolton because I was in England, I found some time to watch a game in London and this was the only game I could find when I was there. Am I surprised? No. Many countries, this is a competition people follow and it is one of the more interesting leagues in Europe to follow.”

The answer is no, but it will probably ensure this Clockwatch gets some emails.

The Championship is very exciting. I wonder. If your side is challenging at the top, would you necessarily want them to get promoted? You might miss this league.

Preamble

What a treat. Friday afternoon football. Must be why they call it Good Friday. It’s a huge day at the top of the Championship, where it’s even more crammed than the tube at rush hour, six teams separated by six points - or eight teams by eight points, you’ll hear fans of Brentford and Wolves cry. The top two, Bournemouth and Watford, are in action later, away at Ipswich Town and Derby County respectively, so Middlesbrough and Norwich will be looking to take advantage before they get going. Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough, spearheaded by Patrick Bamford, are at home to struggling Wigan, who are in 21st place, five points below Rotherham, while Alex Neil’s Norwich are at Brighton. A win for Middlesbrough would lift them into first place, for a couple of hours at least, and Norwich will also hope to end the day in the top two. It’s tight. Further down, Derby and Ipswich could find themselves out of the top six for a few hours if Brentford win at Fulham and Wolves win at Nottingham Forest. It’s tight.

Everyone below kicks off at: 3pm.
