Championship gossip: Leeds United star set to join rivals; West Bromwich Albion and Celtic transfer target lined up as £50m Arsenal replacement; Latest on Nottingham Forest chase for West Ham United defender

It has been a busy few days for Bristol City in the transfer market.

Here is what has been happening around the rest of the division.

Halme to Oakwell

Finnish outlet HS have claimed Leeds United defender Aapo Halme is set to join Barnsley on a permanent basis.

The 21-year-old broke into Leeds' team last season due to the Whites' lack of depth at centre-back.

Yet they have strengthened in that position, meaning Halme is set to head to Oakwell.

Jenkinson wanted

Birmingham Live report that Crystal Palace could scupper West Brom and Celtic's chase for Carl Jenkinson.

The Arsenal defender is in demand this summer, with both the Baggies and the Hoops eyeing up moves for him.

Yet, with Palace having sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka, they are now on the lookout for a full-back too.

Byram's limbo

Nottinghamshire Live report that Nottingham Forest target Sam Byram's future is in limbo.

The defender has returned to pre-season training with West Ham United, but Forest are keen to bring the defender back to the City Ground following an impressive loan.

The Hammers are said to be willing to let Byram leave this summer, but he nevertheless linked up with the first-team squad when they reported back for duty this week.
