Leeds United fighting off Premier League interest in key man; £9m West Brom target set to leave; Middlesbrough transfer update - Latest Championship rumours

Here is the latest gossip from around the Championship.

Klich deal

Football Insider claim Leeds United are set to open contract talks with Mateusz Klich.

The midfielder is a key man at Elland Road but has attracted interest from Premier League side Burnley.

However, the Whites are hoping to fight off the lure of the Premier League by offering the 29-year-old a new deal.

Baggies target to leave

Birmingham Live report that West Brom target Matheus Pereira is set to leave Sporting this summer.

The Baggies have tabled a €300k loan bid for the player, with a further €300k should they achieve the promotion, and an option to buy of €9m.

Yet that is not the only offer on the table for the player, and both the 23-year-old and Sporting agree it is in everyone's best interests for him to leave.

Boro update

Gazette Live report that Middlesbrough boss Jonathan Woodgate remains confident of signing the players his side need, despite the transfer window entering its closing stages.

He said: "We need players in different areas of the pitch, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out what we need - but we will get them players."
