Championship gossip: Leeds United demand £30m for key player; Swansea City and Hull City face fight for Aston Villa star; Stan Collymore sends Nottingham Forest message

Here is the latest gossip from around the Championship as we head into the weekend.

Leeds demand £30m for Phillips

Birmingham Live report that Leeds United have demanded £30m for Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips is wanted by Aston Villa, who have had bids knocked back for him already.

Leeds have now named their asking price in an attempt to dissuade Villa from making further offers.

Davis in demand

The Mirro r report that four Championship clubs are keen on Keinan Davis.

Swansea City, QPR, Hull City and Preston North End have all made enquiries to take the Aston Villa striker on loan.

The 21-year-old was mainly used as a back-up option last season and will find opportunities harder to come by in the Premier League.

Collymore worried by Mendes

Nottingham Forest legend Stan Collymore has voiced his concern over Sabri Lamouchi's appointment as manager.

Lamouchi is a client of Jorge Mendes, who helped the Reds sign Benfica duo Joao Carvalho and Diogo Goncalves along with Gil Dias, from French outfit AS Monaco, last summer.

Collymore said: "Sabri Lamouchi, a Jorge Mendes joint.

"The year is 2035 and every manager,  player and CEO on the planet is advised by Mendes.

"Some fans will point to his improving their club, some gutting the heart from them.

"For me, not a positive influence in the sport."
