The football season may be on hold as the world battles the coronavirus crisis, but that has not stopped Championship clubs from looking ahead and planning for their summer transfer business.
It remains a mystery as to when the transfer window will open, with clubs keen to know when they can bring fresh faces into clubs and build for next season’s campaign.
And managers, and their recruitment staff, are keeping busy in isolation by planning deals well in advance.
Here are the latest transfer rumours from across the Championship.
Galatasaray ‘in talks’ for Fulham capture
Fulham are demanding €10m from Galatasaray for the services of Jean Michael Seri.
That’s according to a report in Turkey that claims the Istanbul giants are keen on completing a deal to sign the midfielder permanently at the end of his loan spell with them.
The report also claims that the Championship club want to keep their midfield star but could be tempted to part ways with him if their valuation can be matched.
His current deal at Craven Cottage will expire in 2022.
Stoke maintain sights on striker target
Stoke City boss Michael O’Neill is keen on boosting his attacking options ahead of next season with the signing of highly-rated Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes, according to a report by The Scottish Sun.
The Australian frontman has made 25 appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season, scoring nine goals, as well as claiming eight assists.
The striker, who is a big, powerful unit, only joined Livingston last summer from Queen of the South.
But the Potters may not have such a straightforward time in trying to secure a deal for the 24-year-old, as Scottish giants Rangers are also keen on signing him.
Derby and Leeds target earns big pay rise
Derby County and Leeds United target Ivan Toney will be handed a big pay rise should Peterborough secure promotion.
The Peterborough Telegraph have revealed that if the Posh land place in the Championship next season, chairman Darragh MacAnthony will put big money on the table to ensure the forward stays at London Road by offering him the biggest contract in the club’s history.
Toney had been linked with a host of clubs ahead of the summer with his club seemingly resigned to losing him.
But with Peterborough now poised to do battle for promotion should and when football returns, the likes of Derby may well have to make a competitive deal to land his services.
Leeds considering cut-price Brannagan price
Leeds United are considering Oxford United’s lowered price for League One star Cameron Brannagan, according to Football Insider.
It was only recently claimed that Leeds, who have been joined by Burnley in the race to sign the former Liverpool youngster, would have to pay somewhere in the region of between £3m - £5m
Now, though, Oxford will be willing to sell him for less because of the potential financial difficulties that a host of League One and League Two clubs could be set to experience because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Prices are predicted to plummet this summer because of the pandemic, which has had a major impact on the UK economy.
