Championship final day RESULTS: Derby book Leeds play-off game as Norwich win title

Derby County have secured the final Championship play-off place and will now face Leeds United for the chance to go to Wembley.

Derby needed a win on the final day of the season to hold off pressure from Middlesbrough and kept their nerve with a 3-1 victory over fourth-placed West Brom.

Martyn Waghorn put Frank Lampard's side ahead at Pride Park before Stefan Johansen equalised for the Baggies just after the half-time break.

However, two goals in three minutes from Harry Wilson and Mason Bennett ensured that the Rams will face Leeds while West Brom will play local rivals Aston Villa for a place at the Wembley final.

Both of Derby's matches against Marcelo Bielsa's side this season have ended in defeat, with their most recent meeting resulting in a 2-0 loss at Elland Road in January.

Championship play-off dates confirmed: Leeds vs Derby and West Brom vs Aston Villa

That game was surrounded by controversy after a member of Leeds' staff was caught spying at Derby's training ground prior to the clash.

United boss Bielsa later admitted to sending a spy to observe Lampard's side and revealed that he had sent someone to watch training sessions for every team they hadn't played against.

The incident resulted in Leeds being fined £200,000 by the EFL.

Elsewhere, Norwich secured the Championship title after beating Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Mario Vrancic's late goal was enough to give the Canaries three points after Teemu Pukki saw his early strike cancelled out by Jonathan Kodjia.

It ensured that Daniel Farke's side claimed the Championship crown ahead of Sheffield United, who had also already confirmed automatic promotion to the Premier League.

In the end, even a defeat would have seen Norwich win the title after the Blades were held to a 2-2 draw at Stoke City.
