Championship clubs accused of breaching group training protocols - reports

Championship clubs have been accused of breaching group training protocols.

Clubs, including Leeds United, met with the EFL this week to discuss the next steps in returning to action.

And according to the Daily Mail, league bosses had to remind clubs that group training should not take place until May 25 at the earliest after accusations the protocols had been breached.

No club admitted to staff doing anything more than monitoring individual sessions.

However, the accusations were substantial enough to warrant a stern reminder from league bosses about the earliest date they can return to group training, according to the report.

The Mail claim that despite formal denials, some coaches have been working with players in a bid to gain a competitive advantage for when the season does return.

Discussions remain ongoing as to when the season can continue, or if indeed it can.

On Thursday the government gave football in England the green light to return, following Germany's lead with Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga returning this weekend,

But league bosses and clubs are no closer to agreeing on a concrete date just yet with the latest meeting revolving around that new date to resume group training.
