Championship bound to comfortable safety - The Newcastle United Season Review

Newcastle United’s 2021-22 season finished on a high and with the club ending up 11th in the table. It was an amazing feat considering United were looking destined for the Championship at the turn of the year.

With so much to look back on, The Everything is Black and White Podcast has recorded a two-part special season review. Podcast host Andrew Musgrove and Newcastle United editor Aaron Stokes look back on all the key moments on and off the pitch.

From the poor start to the season under Steve Bruce to the takeover and Eddie Howe’s arrival - part one is full of ups and downs. While part two starts with the club’s first win of the season and goes along the road to safety.

Summing up the season, Stokes said: "It feels like the longest season ever. Thinking back to August it feels like it was two seasons crammed into one.

"You had the lows of August, September and October and then the galvanising of the club thanks to the takeover, the change of manager and everything that has happened since. It's a season that has been like no other and one we probably won't experience ever again."
