Michael Edwards could find himself already closing in on his next job after leaving Liverpool.
It was announced last month that Edwards would be calling time on his decade-long stint at Anfield when his contract expires next summer.
Edwards will depart Anfield at the end of the season having chosen not to extend his current deal.
The 42-year-old first moved to the Reds in November 2011, and has become a key figure in their recruitment and helped construct a squad that under Jurgen Klopp has won four major trophies.

After Edwards leaves the club, Julian Ward, who is currently assistant sporting director. will step up as his replacement
According to a report in the Independent, Real Madrid have approached Edwards about him becoming their new sporting director.
The report states that Real are set to switch up their transfer policy, with the plan being prioritising the signing of up and coming stars rather than big names.
Edwards has played a key role in the transfer business at Liverpool over the past five years, helping maximise the value for money with new players.
Newcastle United were reportedly keen to bring Edwards to the club, something which was quickly dismissed.
However, the Independent add that while Edwards rejected the idea of joining Newcastle, that is seemingly not the case with Real Madrid.
