The Champions League has entered the knock-out stages with the last 16 ties underway, with Paris Saint-Germain’s statement victory over Barcelona sending shockwaves around Europe.

Kylian Mbappe’s hat-trick showed that the passing of the torch from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo may have already occurred this season.

But while the Argentine’s hopes of progressing in the tournament with Barcelona appear to be all but over, with Ronald Koeman admitting as much, Ronaldo will hope to guide Juventus deep into the competition in pursuit of a Champions League triumph with a third different club after inspiring both Manchester United and Real Madrid before linking up with the Old Lady in Turin.

Chelsea, meanwhile, having changed managers from Frank Lampard to Thomas Tuchel, who fell short with PSG to champions Bayern Munich in last year’s final, with La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid up next in one of the most compelling ties at this stage.
