Tottenham vs Liverpool
Uefa Champions League Final 2018-19
Venue: Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid
Date: Saturday, June 1, 2019
Kick-off time: 8:00pm BST
Tottenham and Liverpool will meet in an all-English Champions League Final in Madrid after two of the most remarkable European comebacks of all time.
The Premier League rivals were both staring down the barrel of semi-final exits, but Liverpool and Spurs shocked Barcelona and Ajax respectively with incredible victories.
Having lost the first leg of their semi-final 3-0 at wCamp Nou, Jurgen Klopp's side ran out 4-0 winner at Anfield to knock Lionel Messi & Co. out of the competition.
As for Tottenham, they trailed Ajax 3-0 on aggregate at half-time of their second leg in Amsterdam - but a second-half hat-trick from Lucas Moura - including a 96th-minute winner - sent Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs through on away goals.
With the European Cup destined to end up at either Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or Anfield this season, here's our guide to the Final.
Tottenham vs Liverpool team news and predicted line-ups
Tottenham
Spurs have been handed a double boost with the news that Harry Kane and Harry Winks are confident of being fit.
Standard Sport understands Kane is very confident he will be included in the squad as Spurs bid to win the trophy for the first time in Madrid on June 1.
Kane has not played since suffering a ligament injury to his left ankle against Manchester City in the quarter-final first leg on April 9 and Spurs feared his season was over, but the striker is on course to make a quicker recovery than was first expected.
However, it remains to be seen whether Pochettino will start Kane - given that the match could well go to extra time and penalties, it may be wiser to use his star man as a second-half substitute.
As for Winks, he is confident after returning to training with the first team.
Jan Vertonghen (ankle), Davinson Sanchez and Danny Rose (both thigh) missed the final day of the league season but should all shake off niggling injuries.
Dele Alli (knock) was withdrawn at half-time against Everton as "a precaution" and is also not considered a doubt for the final.
Tottenham XI: Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Winks, Sissoko, Dele, Eriksen, Son, Lucas
Liverpool
Liverpool have confirmed that Roberto Firmino is closing in on a return to full team training.
The Reds’ No9 has missed their last three outings - a famous comeback win over Barca and league victories against Newcastle United and Wolves - with a groin injury, but is on the road to recovery.
Liverpool's only long-term absentee is Naby Keita (groin), who suffered a serious muscle tear and will now hope to be back for pre-season.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana are understood to be fine but lacking match sharpness.
Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Lovren, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Milner, Mane, Fimino, Salah
Prediction: Penalty shootout
Liverpool should be slight favourites given their superb Premier League campaign, but it would be foolish to hedge your bets either way at this stage after watching those semi-final comebacks from both sides.
Much will depend on whether the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Harry Kane are match fit, though neither side exactly lacked their star forwards in the last round.
With so much at stake for both managers, expect a tight game which could likely be decided by a penalty shootout.
Tottenham vs Liverpool tickets and stadium
While Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium has a capacity of 63,500, only 38,000 tickets were allocated to supporters.
