Champions League Final 2019: Tottenham v Liverpool prediction, tickets, TV, YouTube live stream, odds, lineups

Tottenham vs Liverpool
Uefa Champions League Final 2018-19
Venue: Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid

Date: Saturday, June 1, 2019
Kick-off time: 8:00pm BST

Tottenham and Liverpool meet in an all-English Champions League Final in Madrid this weekend after two of the most remarkable European comebacks of all time.

The Premier League rivals were both staring down the barrel of semi-final exits, but Liverpool and Spurs shocked Barcelona and Ajax respectively with incredible victories.

Having lost the first leg of their semi-final 3-0 at Camp Nou, Jurgen Klopp's side ran out 4-0 winner at Anfield to knock Lionel Messi & Co. out of the competition.

As for Tottenham, they trailed Ajax 3-0 on aggregate at half-time of their second leg in Amsterdam - but a second-half hat-trick from Lucas Moura - including a 96th-minute winner - sent Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs through on away goals.

With the European Cup destined to end up at either Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or Anfield this season, here's our guide to the Final.

Tottenham vs Liverpool team news and predicted line-ups

Tottenham

Pochettino was keeping tight-lipped on Friday night over whether Harry Kane would start the Final.

Kane has not played since the quarter-final first leg against Manchester City in early April when he suffered a "significant" ankle ligament injury.

The England captain has declared himself fit for the showpiece clash with Liverpool and trained without problem at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on Friday night.

Kane would likely replace Lucas Moura - the hat-trick hero of Amsterdam - if he was to start and Pochettino is preparing himself for a "painful" decision.

Given that the match could well go to extra time and penalties, it may be wiser to use his star man as a second-half substitute - and Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle revealed on Friday that he believes Kane already knows he will be on the bench.

As for Harry Winks, he is confident after returning to training with the first team. Jan Vertonghen (ankle), Davinson Sanchez and Danny Rose (both thigh) missed the final day of the league season but have all shaken off niggling injuries.

Dele Alli (knock) was withdrawn at half-time against Everton as "a precaution" and is also not considered a doubt for the final.

Liverpool

Roberto Firmino has been passed fit. The Brazil international will return to action after missing the last three matches with a thigh problem, but Klopp was coy over whether Firmino would start in Madrid.

Teenager Rhian Brewster has been included in the 23-man squad but fellow youngsters Ben Woodburn and Curtis Jones have not made the cut.

Provisional squad: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Matip, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Mignolet, Gomez, Lovren, Moreno, Lallana, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Shaqiri, Sturridge, Origi, Brewster, Kelleher.

Predicted line-ups

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Winks, Sissoko, Dele, Eriksen, Son, Lucas

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Lovren, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Milner, Mane, Fimino, Salah

Prediction: Penalty shootout

Liverpool should be slight favourites given their superb Premier League campaign, but it would be foolish to hedge your bets either way at this stage after watching those semi-final comebacks from both sides.

Much will depend on whether the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Harry Kane are match fit, though neither side exactly lacked their star forwards in the last round.

With so much at stake for both managers, expect a tight game which could likely be decided by a penalty shootout.

Tottenham vs Liverpool tickets and stadium

While Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium has a capacity of 63,500, only 38,000 tickets were allocated to supporters.

At this stage, supporters were invited to complete their purchases, with any unsold tickets then being allocated to other applicants.

Uefa outline on their website that third party and secondary ticket platforms are not authorised by the organisation, and that entry will be denied.

“Any tickets purchased from such sites will be invalid in accordance with Uefa’s ticketing terms and conditions and will not gain entry to the stadium. Uefa therefore strongly discourages fans from buying tickets from any such websites.”
