Champions League draw: Liverpool face Porto in quarter-finals

Liverpool have drawn Porto in the Champions League quarter-finals, as they look to go one further than last season’s runner-up finish.

Jurgen Klopp’s side knocked out Bayern Munich in impressive style this week, winning at the Allianz Arena to cement themselves as one of the favourites for the competition.

Liverpool are enjoying an excellent campaign so far, fighting for the Premier League title currently one point behind Manchester City, and the recruitment of Alisson in goals seems to have taken them to another level after Loris Karuis’s mishaps in last year’s final.

And they could not have drawn a much more favourable draw, with the Portuguese side widely mooted as the weakest possible opponent left in the Champions League.

Porto are second in the Primeira Liga, behind Benfica on goal difference. Sergio Conceicao’s team knocked Roma out of the round of 16.

The first leg of each tie will be played on the 9 or 10 of April, before the return leg the following week. Liverpool will host Porto at Anfield before travelling to Portugal for the second leg.
