The Uefa Champions League quarter-finals and semi-finals have been decided in the draw today.
Premier League leaders Manchester City are in the hat after seeing off Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach comfortably over two legs in the last 16. Kevin de Bruyne was back on the score sheet in the second leg and will surely be key if City are to progress further in the tournament.
Liverpool, winners back in 2019, are into the last eight too after proving too strong for RB Leipzig in the first knockout round. The Reds have endured a difficult defence of their Premier League title but have been a lot more like themselves in European competition and with qualification via the league and the top four by no means a certainty will have all eyes on the next round where they will face Real Madrid.
Chelsea look a team reborn under Thomas Tuchel and are unbeaten since the German’s arrival at Stamford Bridge. They produced a superb performance to knock out La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid in the last 16 with no one likely to want to draw them as the tournament approaches the sharp end.
European heavyweights such as holders Bayern Munich, 2020 finalists Paris Saint-Germain and 13-time winners Real Madrid joined them in the draw for the last eight where the possible semi-final matchups were also be decided.
