Champions League draw: Celtic and Ajax find out who they will face in qualifying round

Ajax will start their Champions League campaign against Greek champions PAOK FC after the draw for the third qualifying round took place on Monday.

The Dutch side came within seconds of the final last season before suffering heartache against Tottenham - but the Eredevisie champions must still start their season in the qualifying round due to Holland's position in the UEFA co-efficient.

They face a tricky test against the Greek side, who fell one step short of reaching the group stages before being beaten by Benfica last year.

Scottish champions Celtic also discovered their fate.

If they defeat Estonian outfit Nomme Kalju in the second qualifying round, they will face either Romanian side CFR Cluj or Israel's Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

Welsh side The New Saints are still in the mix - although they face a huge test against Copenhagen in the second qualifying round.

If they can overcome the Danish side, they will set up a clash with the winners of Red Star Belgrade vs Helsinki.

Reaching the group stages provides a lucrative reward, with an eye-watering £14m on offer just for reaching the main competition with a further £2.4m for a win and £800,000 for each draw.
