It's a perfect start for the Gunners as after only 10 minutes Bendtner opens the scoring, making it 2-2 on aggregate but Arsenal have an all important away goal. After missing a hat full of chances against Burnley at the weekend, Bendtner must be pleased that he was able to find the net when he poked the ball home from 16 yards out

Just 15 minutes later, another Bendtner strike puts Arsenal in front, as it's now 2-0 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate. The goal was created by Andrey Arshavin, whose dazzling footwork enabled him to skip past three defenders on the left-hand side of the box and slash a ball across the face of goal. Bendtner, who was all alone, had managed to stay just on side and he gratefully slammed the ball into the net

At the end of the first half, Samir Nasri swings in a corner. Abou Diaby connects and powers a downward header goalwards but he is denied by a superb save from Helton

Just past the hour mark, Nasri has his back to goal when he receives the ball near the touchline on the right, but a quick spin takes him past one defender and he speeds into the penalty area...

Two minutes later Arsenal score another fabulous goal to make it 4-0. This time it's on the counter attack and it's Eboue who scored. A Porto corner was headed clear and Arshavin picked the ball up halfway inside his own half and scampered forward, accelerating past Porto defenders. Ahead of him Eboue made a run down the centre and Arshavin picked him out superbly and Eboue took the ball around the keeper and slide the ball into the net from a tight angle Photograph: Tom Jenkins

In the final minute of the match, Eboue twists and darts his way into the box before being shoved over by Fucile. The referee blows his whistle and points to the spot. Unsurprisingly Bendtner demands to take the spotkick. He hits the ball low and to his left... Photograph: Tom Jenkins
