Chamomile Sanctuary spa sold to Edinburgh rival

Justine Mitchell, owner and founder of the Chamomile Sanctuary day spa in Edinburgh, has confirmed the sale of the business to The Secret Beauty Garden.

Chamomile Sanctuary was opened in 2010 by the lawyer and business consultant. It has since fostered partnerships with skincare and beauty brands including Medik8, CACI, Crystal Clear, Guinot and Aromatherapy Associates.

Mitchell said: "Making the decision to sell Chamomile was extremely difficult, I have loved building the business and working with the wonderful team of therapists alongside a loyal client base; however the time is right for both Chamomile and I.

"The past couple of years have been challenging for everyone," she continued. "During that period I have developed a wider business portfolio and, sadly, Chamomile no longer fits the way it once did."

Laura Taylor, owner of The Secret Beauty Garden, said she was pleased to have done the deal - for an undisclosed sum - at the time when Covid-19 restrictions are finally lifting.

"We are delighted to have reached agreement with Justine to acquire this beautiful day spa - we have a strategy to grow our own brand and Chamomile is a great addition to our group."
