Action has been taken on a "challenging" estate in Cheshire that has become a hotspot for yobs.
Bunbury Green, in Ellesmere Port, has been plagued by misbehaving youths for several years. In the past, police have had to enforce a number of dispersal orders in the area in an effort to combat bouts of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage.
New measures, including a new path with street lighting and CCTV coverage, have been installed in the area in an attempt to deter anti-social behaviour. It's hoped that the measures will help people living in the area to feel much safer, particularly at night or during the darker winter months.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has been working alongside partners to try and combat some of the problems in Bunbury Green. The project has been funded by the council, the Community Safety Partnership, the Police and Crime Commissioner, Cheshire Fire and Rescue and Riverside Housing.

Deputy leader Karen Shore said: "Anti-social behaviour can have a hugely detrimental impact on the lives of local residents and I believe this project will make a real difference. By improving the lighting in this small area and creating the new path we can help to deter people from committing offences and make local residents feel safer in their community.
“Following the completion of this scheme we will continue to work closely with partner agencies and local residents to help improve the area to help make Bunbury Green a better place to live.”

Cheshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer added: “The issues around Bunbury Green have been long-standing, with crime and incidents in this area contributing to significant anti-social behaviour related problems.
"The physical design of the area has made policing it a big challenge for the Ellesmere Port team over many years.
"This has all been made by possible by a multi-agency approach to tackling these issues and whilst financial investment was needed to kickstart this work, we should also celebrate the hard work of the partnership."
