Chain which has 2,000 restaurants in USA opens one in UK

Chicken fans could be in for a treat as a popular American fast food chain looks to be continuing its plans to open in the UK.

Chick-fil-A is the third-largest fast food chain in the USA thanks to its chicken sandwiches - but has been solely based in America since it was founded in 1946.

Recent months have seen the chain trying out pop-up restaurants in UK cities - including Edinburgh last year - and a new one has just opened at the Oracle shopping centre in Reading.

It would be huge news if the chain decides to expand across the UK.

It currently has 2,000 restaurants in the USA and this year revealed plans to open in Canada for the first time - with 15 restaurants around Toronto employing up to 75 people per location.

Diners were trying out the new the chicken shop in The Oracle shopping centre on Thursday, October 10, reports BerkshireLive .

Chick-fil-A, pronounced chik-fil-AY, is a much loved chain in the US for serving nuggets, chicken sandwiches, waffle potato fries and more.

The chain was founded by, Samuel Truett Cathy, a devout Southern Baptist and the family business continues to uphold Christian beliefs, with all restaurants closed on Sundays, Christmas and Thanksgiving.

BerkshireLive  has contacted Chick-fil-A and  The Oracle  for more information.
