Chain @pizza offering half-price drive-thru pizza in Edinburgh for a 'socially distant collection'

Chain @pizza is offering half-price drive-thru food for a "socially distant collection" in Edinburgh.

The popular eatery, which has a restaurant on Charlotte Lane, is giving customers the chance to pre-order their meal and pay on the app before walking in, or driving up, to get their food.

A 50 per cent discount has also been implemented during what is an uncertain time for many people financially.

Co-founder Rupert Lyle said: "We've created the world's first drive-thru pizza to enable people to minimise any contact while still enjoying fantastic food.

"Not everyone has the luxury of being able to stay at home, so we're here for those who need to be out and about or those who decide to break the solitude or monotony of self-isolation or social distancing by going for a drive."

Among the pizzas featured on their online menu are 'Eat Meat Repeat' packed with pepperoni, spicy Italian sausage, ham and meatballs, and At Tiffany's breakfast pizza with Italian sausage, bacon, egg, cheese, red onion and spinach.

They also do dessert pizzas such as Vanilla Sky which comes with sweet ricotta, summer fruit, chocolate sauce, marscapone and icing sugar.

People can order food using the @pizza app or by using platforms such as Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.
