Chadwick Boseman's powerful election statement in last social media post before death

Chadwick Boseman endorsed Democratic Vice President candidate Kamala Harris in his final social media posts before his death.

The entertainment world was in mourning on Friday when news broke that the Black Panther star had died following a secret four year battle against cancer – aged just 43.

In his final Instagram and Twitter posts earlier this month, the actor shared a photograph of himself with 55-year-old politician Kamala in celebration of her election to run as a Vice President alongside US Presidential hopeful Joe Biden.

Chadwick and Kamala have a shared history – having both graduated from Howard University in Washington, where Chadwick graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in directing in 2000, and Kamala graduated with a degree in political science and economics in 1986.

Taking to social media on 12 August, Chadwick shared an image of himself embracing Kamala alongside the caption: “YES @KamalaHarris! #WhenWeAllVote #Vote2020.”

Kamala made history earlier this month when she became the first black woman to be included on presidential ticket for a major party.

Following the news that Chadwick had passed away on Friday, Kamala took to social media herself to express her shock and sadness.

She shared a photograph of herself and Chadwick flashing beaming smiles as they hugged.

She wrote alongside the image: “Heartbroken. My friend and fellow Bison Chadwick Boseman was brilliant, kind, learned, and humble.

“He left too early but his life made a difference. Sending my sincere condolences to his family.”

Many other high profile stars have taken to social media to share their sadness over the death of Chadwick at the end of the week.

Marvel co-stars Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Zoe Saldana and Angela Bassett have been among stars to express their grief over his shock death.

While talk show legend Oprah Winfrey, music icon Mariah Carey, and acclaimed director Jordan Peele have also shared their sadness.
