Hollywood and fans across the world are in mourning for Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman after his death at the age of just 43.
News of his death, after a four year battle with colon cancer, broke late on Friday night, with the news being revealed in a tragic Instagram post.
It read: "It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman.
"Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.
"A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much.
"From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. "
Chadwickwas most famous for playing King T’Challa in smash hit movie Black Panther and fans have been left devastated by his death.
Referencing the fact he kept working during his heath battle, North East comedian Patrick Monahan tweeted: "Thinking about all the stuff Chadwick Boseman made and did after a devastating diagnosis and in the midst of what must have been absolutely gruelling treatments.
"And all that with no one outside his circle catching on at all. Truly an amazing talent. What a cruel, cruel loss."
Another fan posted: "I can’t put my finger on why the news of Chadwick Boseman’s passing has hit me so hard and brought me to tears this morning, obviously I didn’t know him personally. I think it’s the realisation of how much he meant to so many people."
