Chadwell Heath stabbing: Woman fighting for life after being knifed in row on London street

A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after she was stabbed in east London.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene after being called to reports of an argument in Chadwell Heath on Sunday.

Officers had been called to New Enterprise House, off Mill Lane, just before 8.30pm and found a victim on the street with a number of stab wounds.

After treatment at the scene, she was taken to hospital. The woman, believed to be in her 30s, had life-threatening injuries.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. He was still in custody on Monday.

The latest bloodshed comes after four fatal stabbings in the space of five days in the capital.

On Sunday, a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in broad daylight in Anerley.

On Friday, 17-year-old Malcolm Mide-Madariola was stabbed to death outside Clapham South station.

On Thursday, 15-year-old Jay Hughes, also known as Jai Sewell, was killed outside a takeaway in Bellingham.

On Wednesday, Rocky Djelal, 38, died from fatal knife wounds next to a children’s playground at Southwark Park.
