Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has pledged to launch a 100-day programme focused on tackling air pollution, flooding and transparency while implementing his 261 campaign policies.

After the Election Commission (EC) officially certified his election victory on Thursday, Mr Chadchart met with members of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC), and both sides pledged to work together.

Thanking Bangkok voters, Mr Chadchart said he was grateful for the opportunity to serve another term and praised the EC for certifying the results promptly.

He said work would begin immediately, with the first 100 days devoted to incorporating his 261 campaign policies into the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's strategic plan to ensure their effective implementation.

The programme will focus on four areas -- people, systems, the economy and transparency -- while giving priority to pressing issues such as PM2.5 air pollution and flooding.

Mr Chadchart said the administration would also prioritise the On Nut waste incineration plant and groundwater seepage at a Purple Line tunnel construction site near Wongwian Yai. It would also review unresolved issues raised during the election campaign, including measures to improve public access to government data.

Responding to complaints lodged during the campaign, including allegations of sexual harassment, he said authorities would examine each case based on the evidence. Other issues under review include the running track project, the waste incineration plant and migrant workers.

Mr Chadchart also welcomed PM Anutin Charnvirakul's offer of cooperation, saying Mr Anutin had personally called to congratulate him.
