‘Chad Powers’ has a release date worth of the end zone

Glen Powell is bringing Eli Manning’s Chad Powers to life in a new and creative way with Loki writer Michael Waldron and now we have a release date! Touch down!

Waldron and Powell are bringing an old sketch of Manning’s to life with the new series. In the sketch, Manning pretends like he’s auditioning as a walk-on quarterback for Penn State. He wows those watching him and none of them know that it is actually Manning behind his disguise. It’s cute and funny and did a lot to warm people to Manning as a person and the new series from Waldron and Powell is going to be a bit different.

From what we’ve seen of the show, Powell will play a former football player who is trying to make a new name for himself (meaning he’s not playing Manning). But whatever the show has in store for us, it is going to be hilarious to watch a little sketch come to life in this way!

The release tells us to “meet the new face of football” with Chad Powers. “Glen Powell is Chad Powers.” The series will begin on September 30 with a two episode premiere and then release weekly, new episodes dropping on Tuesdays. Oh television is so back baby.

The series is described as follows: “When bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers. Based on the sketch produced by NFL Films and Omaha Productions that aired on ESPN+ as part of the Eli’s Places series, the half-hour comedy from 20th Television will stream on Hulu. Powell and Waldron co-wrote the pilot.”

So get ready to kick off football season with Russ Holliday and watch Chad Powers this coming September!
