Chad Johnson left an enormous tip at a newly reopened restaurant in Florida

Over the years, former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson has made a point to tip generously whenever he dines out at a restaurant.

He often chooses the amounts for his massive tips based on random statistics from his playing career and leaves a note to explain.

But the global coronavirus pandemic has hit the restaurant industry especially hard. So, when Havana’s Cuban Cuisine in Cooper City, Fla., opened for dine-in business after the state’s shutdown, Johnson didn’t go with his typical football-themed tips.

Instead, he left a $1,000 tip for a $37.40 bill and welcomed the restaurant back to business. He shared a photo of the receipt Monday on Twitter.

Johnson wrote on the receipt:

Congrats on re-opening. Sorry about the pandemic, hope this helps. “I LOVE YOU.”

What an amazing gesture.
